Hello to Autumn
Oil on wood | 18 x 43cm | framed
My partner and I have travelled to New Zealand a number of times. We often go on long scenic drives and it is easy to stare out the window and admire the scenery. The landscape is often beautiful, captivating and it is particularly beautiful when the season is turning into Autumn.
This painting is an interpretation of those passing and beautiful scenes along the way. The mountainous backdrop is synonymous with the country. The colour spectrum across the land, marks and welcomes the first signs of Autumn. Since painting this scene, I feel inspired to take more breaks along our long drives, not just to stretch the legs but to pause and admire the scenery.
